Repeater by Fugazi: Life Makes Us Return

The title of Fugazi’s album Repeater and the first track Turnover may be considered as symbolical. Everything reiterate s in this life and the band wanted to underline this idea in their album. The album was released on April 19th, 1990 on LP and in May 1990 on CD. The CD version offers band fans + 3 tracks as a bonus.

Repeater is a full length debut album of the band. I adore them and the way they try to express themselves via music. Speaking about music in the album, it’s impossible to avoid mentioning the fact that the ex-members of Rilos of Spring, Guy Picciotto and Brendan Canty are marvelous, their performance is great. Along with ex-Minor Threat members Joe Lally and Ian MacKaye, the band managed to remain the leaders of the stage among other bands which work in the post-hardcore genre. Repeater is a sample of the music mastery. Canty has such a tremendous style of playing that it seems that he drums with three hands. Joe Lally’s galloping bass voice adds to the solid performance. Fugazi’s manner of playing music in this album reminds Greg Ginn (Black Flag). It is a good topic for discussion in student writing term paper or term paper tips, don’t you agree? Fugazi use guitars not only for creating the sound, but also for rhythm and percussion. The album is included in the book 1000 Recordings to Hear before You Die. It means much, isn’t it?
